How is an Inspection Performed During a Pandemic?

February 5th, 2022

The COVID-19 pandemic is unfortunately not yet behind us and the Public Health measures and government restrictions are still evolving. It is very difficult to predict what the next few months will bring in terms of restrictions, but the following article will try to inform you as best as possible of the different steps and precautions related to an inspection in these more difficult times. You can be assured that we are following all the required steps and taking all the necessary precautions to ensure the safety and health of our clients and staff.

Here is how we work before, during and after your building inspection by the Qualitam team.

BEFORE AN INSPECTION

It is important to note that inspections may be postponed at our discretion on sites that present an increased risk of virus transmission due, for example, to the presence of an infected person. We are also committed to keeping our staff away from each other and from clients if they fall into the category of at-risk individuals. You may also be asked to complete an online questionnaire prior to the inspector’s arrival on site. You will be asked if you have been ill in the last 14 days or if you are in isolation or quarantine.  If anyone at the inspection site has been in direct or indirect contact with a sick person. If you have traveled abroad or if you or anyone at the site has tested positive for Covid-19. It should be noted that building inspections should be done outside of curfew hours. As this is a fast-moving situation and rules can change from week to week, the Qualitam team will discuss with you any concerns about our inspector being able to visit your site and return home within their allotted hours. There will also likely be a limit to the number of people allowed on site during the inspection. All those on site will also be asked to maintain a distance of two meters and to follow the mask rules that are in place.

AFTER AN INSPECTION

Normal COVID protocols should be followed by those who remain on site and by the inspector upon leaving the premises. These protocols include thorough hand washing, disinfection of all shared items and surfaces such as door handles, railings, etc. Our follow-up communications are done online so you can expect the same assurance of accurate and timely results regardless of the current health situation.
